Biostatistician Level 2
Samuel Berman joined StatisticaMedica in 2024 as a Junior Biostatistician and has progressed to a Biostatistician Level 2 role. Samuel holds a PhD in Physics, a Postgraduate Certificate in Statistics, and an Honours Degree in Physics from Trinity College Dublin, Ireland. Since joining StatisticaMedica, Samuel has completed a comprehensive training programme in Biostatistics practice, including accredited courses in CDISC (SDTM, ADaM) and SAS programming standards, and has ongoing GCP certification.
Samuel is the internal project lead and lead programmer on a range of projects at StatisticaMedica. He also drives the creation of core statistical documents, including statistical analysis plans, statistical management plans and the statistical section of study protocols. In a Biostatistician Level 2 role, Samuel is responsible for study activities such as the programming of analysis datasets, including CDISC (SDTM and ADaM), and interim analysis programming, as well as contributing to the programming and validation of data outputs (e.g., tables, figures and listings) for statistical analyses. Samuel’s responsibilities also include providing input into sampling frameworks, sample size calculations, statistical analyses, exploratory analyses, data quality control activities, and data storage and archiving. Samuel draws on his background in physics and chemistry research to provide a unique perspective on biostatistical activities, and supports projects through conducting review of programming documentation and statistical output generated by the junior team. Samuel regularly attends client meetings and takes meeting minutes, and attends international conferences.
Samuel has previously worked on research projects spanning a wide range of subjects in physics and chemistry, resulting in 7 peer-reviewed publications.
